Choosing The Right LCD TV Size
Choosing the right size screen when buying an LCD TV is important for the consumer looking to optimize every single television viewing experience. Getting an LCD TV that is just the right size will ensure that the consumer can place the LCD TV where he (or she) desires to do so and can still get the best viewing angles possible. LCD TV screens come in a range of sizes and the consumer will want to choose the ideal TV from among the many.
Viewing options are determined first by where the television will be placed. For instance, if the user of the LCD will be viewing it from straight on where the device is positioned inside an entertainment center, he or she will want to ensure that the LCD TV is the appropriate size and will fit into the entertainment center slot accordingly. Taking a quick diagonal measurement of the opening in the entertainment center and then getting an LCD TV with diagonal measurements that are a bit smaller than the measurement collected should ensure that the set will fit right inside one’s entertainment center. If placing the LCD TV on a stand, the stand must be at least wide enough to support the base of the set. Many consumers opt for a stand that is just as wide as the LCD TV is, but this is a matter of preference.
The consumer must consider the aspect ratio that the television offers too and the pixel resolution in order to get a decent LCD TV which offers optimal viewing properties. For example, if sitting ten feet from the LCD many consumers prefer a television that has a diagonal screen measurement of 40” or 42”. The further away from the set one is, the bigger the diagonally measurement becomes. If, for instance, the consumer sits 18 feet from the television, a 50” inch screen optimizes the viewer’s experience nicely. The same rule applies for smaller LCD TVs: the closer the consumer positions him or herself to the set, the smaller the diagonal measurement would then be.
If the LCD TV will be mounted to a wall area, this too will need to be considered. A measurement should be taken of the area to ensure that there will be enough room to mount the television to the wall appropriately. The wall should be spacious enough to hold a television which can be viewed with ease: this will be determined by where the user of the LCD TV will most often be seated when viewing the device.
It will also be necessary to review the potential viewing angle offered by an LCD TV to determine what set offers optimal viewing and what sizes are appropriate. If viewing a set from an angle instead of straight on, if the LCD TV does not offer expanded angle viewing it may be difficult to optimize all viewing experiences. Getting a set that offers the widest angle viewing possible with a broad range of diagonal screen measurements increases the options available to the consumer.

Thanks for the tip, i just bought my first 42″ Tv, I was thinking first about 37″ but decided to go for the 42″, didn’t want to regret later
It’s the LG 42LG3000 and I should receive it during today.
I’m looking for a new TV for my bedroom. The distance isn’t larger than 6 feet from the wall to the bed but I still want to get a 42″ or at least a 37 inch screen.
I know it’s too big, but I still want it
My wife wants a 26″ or a 32″ Tv.
Am I going to make a stupid decision if I’ll get a 42″ TV?
Good article.. thanks! I won’t recommend getting a screen which is just too big, big screens are fun but if it’s too big in your bed room, eventually you’ll stop enjoying it
